It’s a tricky one … I still don’t regret voting for them because it was still the only anti-Tory vote I could cast, and actually it was Lib Dem votes rather than Labour votes that kept the Tories from a majority, and I don’t really see how the Lib Dems could have gone for anything other than the coalition … but I do worry that they didn’t prioritise properly (was an AV referendum more important than Trident or welfare cuts?) and I guess that the Lib Dems have always represented a rather middle-class brand of progressivism that lacks the teeth or conviction to push policies through … but I also can’t help but wonder exactly what Labour would currently be doing if they were in power? It’s all a horrible mess really.
